Evidence Of A ‘Ninth Planet’

American astronomers say they have strong evidence that there is a ninth planet in our Solar System orbiting far beyond even the dwarf world Pluto.

The team, from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), has no direct observations to confirm its presence just yet.Rather, the scientists make the claim based on the way other far-flung objects are seen to move. But if proven, the putative planet would have 10 times the mass of Earth.

How The Milky Way Grew

“The Milky Way grew up by growing out,” Melissa Ness, an astronomer at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg, Germany, said at a news conference.

Ness and her colleagues developed a computer program that analysed the light emitted by red giants —bright stars that started out like the sun but exhausted their hydrogen fuel — to determine the stars’ masses and ages. Li-Fi Real World Tests Show Speeds 100 Times Faster Than Wi-Fi

Li-Fi is on its way to the public, as researchers have finally tested it in the real world, and it offers some pretty impressive results.

The technology transmits data using a technique called visible light communication, or VLC, and using the tech, scientists were able to transmit data at a pretty hefty 224 GB per second. Outside of the lab, scientists reported speeds of 1 GB per second, which is a lot less than in the lab, but still represents speeds that are 100 times speedier than the average Wi-Fi delivery.
